Lets Make File Sharing in UTP Formally Legal
I met my friend, Tuan Kamil while having a dinner. He showed me a message he received (probably from ITMS) sounds like this;
“Do students still require DC++?”
Well, it is a good sign actually. So, for those who don’t know what is DC++, as a noob, I would say it is a platform (software) for file sharing such as videos, music, etc over a sharing network. In order to make it relevance to UTP, DC++ can be considered as an important asset for UTP students. The network access provided by UTP is a big advantage to allow this file sharing phenomenon among UTPians to happen.
Unfortunately, the past several weeks, some of my friends port have been blocked by the management because they hosted DC server. It is been told, DC++ is the reason that causing the internet to slow down. Well, I called it UTP Mythbuster. As a result, there is no more file sharing (DC++) in UTP – especially in v5.
So my friends in UTP, please leave your suggestion on why do we need DC++ back. Please help us to turn the file sharing formally legal in UTP.
I need to close down this thread comments to avoid redundancy. You can point out your ideas or suggestions on my friend’s blog, Abi Aiman (Aaba).
Sharing is caring.
